Unauthentic Duas in Morning & Evening Adhkaar: A Caution for Every Muslim

🟣 Unauthentic Duaas related to the Azkaarus Sabaahi wal Masaa (Remembrances of the Morning & Evening)

It is important for every Muslim to ensure the authenticity of the supplications they recite, especially during the precious moments of morning and evening adhkaar. Many of us unknowingly recite fabricated or weak duaas, believing them to be from the Sunnah. This article highlights certain widely-circulated morning and evening duaas that have been deemed unauthentic by great scholars such as Shaykh Al-Albani (رحمه الله).

🔶 The Duaas Mentioned in 'Hisnul Muslim' but Declared Weak

❌ 1.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ...
(Abu Dawud: 5078, Bukhari: 1021 — Declared Hasan by Ibn Baaz, Shaykh Shuayb Arna’oot, Shaykh Zubair Ali Zaee — but Declared Weak by Imaam Albani: Silsilah ad-Da’eefah: 1041, Da’eef al-Jaami: 5731, 5729, Kalim at-Tayyib, Adab al-Mufrad)

❌ 2.

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ...
(Abu Dawud: 5073, 'Amal al-Yawm wal-Laylah' of Nasai: 7, Ibn Hibban: 861 — Declared Hasan by Ibn Baaz — Declared Weak by Albani: Kalim at-Tayyib: 26, Da’eef at-Targheeb: 385, Da’eef al-Jaami: 5730)

❌ 3.

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ...
(Abu Dawud: 5084 — Declared Weak by Imaam Albani: Silsilah ad-Da’eefah: 5606)

🔷 IMPORTANT REMARK

رضيت بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد ﷺ نبيا

✅ This duaa is authentic and should be recited once every morning.
Rasoolullah ﷺ said:
"Whoever says it in the morning, I will hold his hand and enter him into Jannah."
(Silsilah as-Saheehah: 2686)

It can also be recited at other times:
"من قال: رضيت بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد رسولا وجبت له الجنة"
("Whoever says: I am pleased with Allah as my Rabb, with Islam as my Deen, and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Rasool, Paradise is guaranteed for him.")
(Abu Dawud: 1529, Silsilah as-Saheehah: 334)

🟥 Some Other UNAUTHENTIC Duaas Not Found in 'Hisnul Muslim'

❌ 4.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَبِحَمْدِهِ...
(Abu Dawud: 5075 — Declared Weak by Albani: Da’eef al-Jaami: 4121)

❌ 5.

اللَّهُمَّ! أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ...
(Ibnus Sunni: 57, see also 58, 46, 42 — Declared Weak by Albani: Silsilah ad-Da’eefah: 6420)

❌ 6.

{فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ...}
These are verses from Surah Room (30:17-18) but should not be recited as a morning/evening duaa.
(Abu Dawud: 5076 — Declared Weak by Albani)

❌ 7.

اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
Reciting 7 times after Maghrib
(Abu Dawud: 5079 — Declared Weak by Albani)

❌ 8.

اللَّهُمَّ مَا حَلَفْتُ مِنْ حَلِفٍ...
(Abu Dawud: 5087 — Declared Weak by Albani)
